Social advertising in Russian Federation makes you better

Social advertising is not new in former Soviet Union as it can seem. Even many years ago social promotion took an important place in usual life. All Russians who lived in Soviet times remember social posters and television spots where concepts of liability were declared. The following mottos were so much popular: “Save our nature, it’s our motherhood”, “Matches are not toys for boys” etc. All those social ads were supported by the government and created by governmental institutions. Nowadays everything has changed and we may find lots silly social advertising which is supported by Russian government, non-commercial companies and private persons. Lots of money is spent every year on different social campaigns which are created by popular media campaigns with movie spots, social booklets, logos etc.
Many international foundations work on the territory of Russian Federation and lots of social ads from different countries are available nowadays in Russia. I am sure that it is really good as we have a unique opportunity to use best world experience in the sphere of social advertizing as our own traditions in this area are very weak but we have lots of thoughts and creative PR specialists who can make all them effective. That’s why various contests of social advertizing are so popular nowadays in Russian Federation and a lot of professional promotion firms took an active part in such kind of competitions and if you enter tube sites you can search for many social spots shooted by the leading local organizations but usually the visualization of social messages leaves much to be desired. Still there are quite a lot of popular social videos on alcohol addiction and other problems. But of course, we should always remember about the current situation in the country and the main difficulties which the government has to sort out. One of such difficulties is demographic decrease as too many people die in Russian Federation and they understand that they should stimulate people to give more births. As an example of social advertizing which concentrated on demographic difficulties we can mention social posters which were placed in Moscow metro with a lady with three children on her knees. This post gives more questions rather than gives replys as there is no guy on this poster and the woman looks not very happy.
I think that social advertizing in former Soviet Union just starts its way and in the nearest future we will see lots of great examples of television spots and social posters as well as complicated social campaigns.
